Summer > Winter
Summer is better than winter.
For reference. I live in Perth, AU so the temperature gauge does not go to the extremes that it would in others places around the world. That said, I think my opinion remains the same if extremes were factored in.

A sane person only needs to look at the list and see that the benefits of summer far outweigh those of winter.
Why Summer?⌗
Now, if you have got past the TLDR congrats! I am just going to explain some of the points in the table.
Temperature and Weather⌗
The most obvious reason to love summer is the warm temperature with the mild weather. (breeze or rain drizzle) It is not uncommon for the evenings/nights to truly be room temperature. I would wager it is impossible to not like a temperature that feels like nothing. Its kind of a out of “sight” out of mind matter.
What I consider one of the most important products of the increased heat is the fact that your extremities don’t get cold. When your hands are cold activities that require any sort of motor skills become harder. Typing is a big one for me. It is also just uncomfortable.
As expected there days where it can get quite hot, especially when there is an easterly breeze. Do not fret, it is super easy to cool down. Whether it is going for a swim or drinking a cold bevy the escape from the heat has to be one of the most refreshing experiences in life. Thats not something you can get by standing in front of a heater/fire or putting on more layers to heat yourself up in the winter.
Longer Days⌗
Its something that you may forget during the middle of summer but the long days are a blessing. Waking up to go to work? The sun is actually up. Want to do something outside in the late afternoon? There will be enough sunlight to catch something smaller like a baseball. The synergy between longer days and warm weather is unbeatable. Longer days to experience the better season.
Events and Festivals⌗
I love music festivals and the winter is devoid of music festivals. By capitalising on the warmer and longer days you get to have a blast listening to music acts all day. Acts always bring world wide talent due to that sweet season reversal in the southern hemisphere.
Music festivals are a great way to create experiences and generate nostalgia with your mates.
There are also more events that happen in the city. Think Fringe Festival or cultures by the sea.
Christmas and new years are in summer and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
BBQ’s⌗
Eating outside with a cool beer/wine with a nice steak and salad is a staple of the typical summer day/night. I find it not only nostalgic but also it seems to re-affirm the fact that this is summer. I guess it is the culmination of the advantages of summer coming into one. Shorts, T-Shirts, swimming and long days. Just mwah magnifique!
Bonus Content⌗
What about the other two seasons? Simple.
Spring > Autumn.
Every day of spring brings the joy of getting closer to summer. It’s like the advent calendar for summer. Autumn on the other-hand is the slow, dreadful and inevitable march to winter. Not fun 😡.
Everything wakes up in spring. Flowers bloom, birds start nesting and the weather gets warmer. Spring allows me to wear some of my favourite attire, shorts and hoodie. The only major flaw is its inconsistency. A week of warm, sunny days only to have the very next week to be full of thunderstorms and bitter coldness.

No brainer really. Love the game its just a shame it doesn’t run all year.
Bonfires⌗
My mates and I love getting round the bonfire whenever the fire ban is lifted. The ritual of gathering and prepping wood, lighting and feeding the bonfire is great. Nice way to banter for hours.
Wine / Rum bars⌗
Stepping in from the cold into a warm venue is great. Rum just hits different when you have just come out from the cold.
Green Fauna⌗
Throughout the summer the fauna just gets drier and drier until it is basically dead. The constant rain and cooler weather in winter brings nature back to life.
